Trefer's Painting

3 days until his and Ian's birthday! (feb 28) :iconyayzplz:
well, one of his plus side is that his drawings are really good, i mean really good.
(what the hell tref! you're better than me!DX)
(how should i know! you're the author!><)

this would be his secret painting on his bedroom wall, hidden by a curtain. a painting of his crush XD
no one knows about it, except his younger step sister Tai, who helps him a lot in this crush thing, and yeah, she tells no one

I'm not really one who's great at writing critiques but if I find a friend who's requesting one and they haven't gotten one, I definitely try my best. My only worry is that I'm too nice... well, here I go!

I absolutely love how you pulled this off - one can certainly see the difference between your 'real life' and the painting and the minor details here and there with your shading and highlights and even the things at the bottom with the paint spilling out of the tube. The effect you put on the water in the painting is very well done, it almost holds the texture of an actual painting and when I noticed it, it certainly caught me off guard. [Also the paint on his skin! Excellent!]

Anatomy is well done, although with the part of the foot that the viewers can see almost doesn't seem to be quite the right size for him. Once again, your grasp of texture, shading, and highlighting is something to be marveled at, and I can't wait to see how you change and develop in the years to come.

I guess there's only one thing I'd change - the water in the cup holding the brushes... unless he just started to work on his painting again after having already worked on it before, shouldn't the water be at least a little murky? More of a curiosity than a gripe, though.
